More About Me
I always try to mix business with pleasure but sometimes the pleasure side gets the better of me :-)
I run a small independent software company called Shoecake Games
specializing in developing what's known as 'casual games'. Solitaire and Tetris are two of the most famous
and popular casual games. I mainly focus on strategy based games in the puzzle, arcade or retro
genres. Making and working with games all day is not as much fun as it sounds (yeah, right!)
To relieve the agony, I also run a dance music focused listings site called
Outlar.com The site caters for music events and
venues in my home city of Liverpool, UK. I particularly enjoy Deep House, Techno, Tech House,
Electro, Soul and Funk. I also enjoy various forms of Hip-Hop, Latin/Jazz and Disco! Working on
Outlar.com requires me to spend many late nights doing 'research' in clubs and bars around town.
I don't know why I put up with such stressful work but someone has to do it! I also maintain
another music focused site called PlasticSoup.com
which publishes articles, reviews, interviews and other news about music and popular culture
in Liverpool!
One of my hobbies is Photography, most of my photo's are taken
in and around my home town of Liverpool.
I'm also keen on Films and run a Film web site called Filmogs.com.
The site attempts to bring together the top 1000 films of all time with heavy use of cross-referencing,
sorting and categorizing. I would hope to eventually watch all of the films listed on the site
but I'm only managing to watch about 50 films a year so I have a long way to go!
Now you've been properly introduced, it is time to get closer to the real me! I've created a list
of my favorite films, music, art, books and comedy. I'm sure you can learn a lot about me from my choices.
